In 2001, Tatsuro Horikawa founded the Julius label in Tokyo with the ambition of presenting film projects. Then, in 2004, the label advanced and developed its clothing line. Utilizing black and grey as the major colors of each collection – symbols of sorrow and suffering – the label is focused on Horikawa’s appreciation of art and architecture, which were necessary for the brand’s origin as an art project.
